The man who invented the parachute was Leonardo da Vinchi from Italy.He got the idea in around 1512. One day when he was watching the birds in the sky, he noticed the birds landed gently to the ground. Leonardo made the first sketch of a parachute.
It is a very good invention because it helps people to jump safely from very high places. The Parachute was used by the army during World War I and II.
